Balochistan Police have issued a threat alert warning that Quetta could face large-scale coordinated attacks on August 7, citing a message allegedly shared by the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA).

According to the advisory issued by the Central Police Office in Quetta, the message indicated that coordinated attacks could be carried out in the city.

Police said the message claimed that around 4,000 BLA fighters, including suicide bombers, could take part in the attacks and attempt to take control of Quetta.

The advisory said residents had also been advised not to leave their homes during the period.

Police directed officials to tighten security, maintain heightened vigilance and make advance arrangements to prevent any untoward incident.

Senior police officials were also instructed to submit reports on the measures taken within three days for review by the Inspector General of Police, Balochistan.

The letter was sent to senior police officials, the Chief Secretary of Balochistan, NACTA, the Frontier Corps (FC), Rangers and other relevant institutions for information and necessary action.
