Five more bodies have been recovered from different parts of Balochistan, including Mastung, Chaman and Sohbatpur, officials and local sources said.

The body of an unidentified man was recovered from the Khad Kocha area of Mastung district. The man had been shot dead and his body left by the roadside, according to local sources.

The body was taken to Shaheed Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Hospital for identification and medico-legal procedures and was later transferred to Quetta.

Meanwhile, another unidentified body was recovered from the Chaman area and transferred to a hospital for identification and other necessary procedures.

The local administration in Sohbatpur said three bodies had been recovered and transferred to a hospital. Their identities had not been established at the time of publication.

The latest discoveries come amid continuing reports of bodies being recovered from different districts of Balochistan. Human rights groups and families of missing persons have long alleged that some people forcibly disappeared in Balochistan are later killed in custody and their bodies abandoned.

Last week, the bodies of five men were brought to a hospital in Panjgur and later identified as people who had previously been reported forcibly disappeared. Family members and local sources said two of the men had been detained by Pakistani forces in 2022, while the other three had also previously been reported missing.
