Armed men reportedly seized a commercial vehicle and carried out multiple attacks on a convoy of commercial trucks and Pakistani armed forces along the Quetta-Taftan Highway in Chagai district, according to reports received from the area.

Local sources said that around 70 armed individuals intercepted a large convoy of commercial vehicles in the Dalbandin area and took one truck, along with its cargo, into their custody. The incident occurred amid ongoing security concerns on the highway, a key trade route connecting Quetta with Taftan.

The latest development follows reports of similar incidents on the same route a day earlier, during which commercial vehicles and drivers were reportedly detained by armed men. Separate reports also indicated attacks targeting Pakistani military forces in the area.

In another incident, armed men reportedly carried out three separate attacks on a convoy of commercial vehicles and Pakistani security forces in the Chehtar area of Dalbandin. According to local sources, the convoy was targeted at three different locations while travelling along the highway.

Sources said the attacks resulted in damage to both security forces’ vehicles and commercial trucks. However, no official information regarding casualties or the extent of the damage has been released.

Pakistani authorities have not yet issued a statement regarding either incident.

The Quetta-Taftan Highway is one of the region’s principal trade corridors, linking Balochistan with Iran through the border town of Taftan and serving as a major route for commercial transport. Recent months have seen a series of attacks and disruptions along the highway, raising concerns among transporters and traders operating on the route.
