One Frontier Corps (FC) soldier was killed and 16 others, including a captain, were injured after a quadcopter reportedly crashed and exploded at the FC 64 Wing Headquarters in the Manguchar area of Kalat district on Tuesday night.
The soldier killed was identified as Sepoy Shehzad, who was reportedly associated with drone operations.
The injured personnel were taken to nearby medical facilities for treatment. They included Captain Hassan, a regimental medical officer (RMO); Subedar Major Azam; Havaldars Badi and Ismat; Naiks Tufail, Shahid, Hafiz, Rizwan and Tauseef; Lance Naiks Ahmed, Juma, Aqib Rasool, Iqbal and Shiraz; and Sepoys Sherbaz and Muhammad Usman.
Sources said several of the injured personnel were in critical condition.
No official statement has yet been issued by the Frontier Corps or Pakistani military regarding the incident.
