Armed fighters took control of parts of Zidi in Khuzdar district, set a police station on fire and attacked Pakistani military vehicles on Friday, while separate attacks and other incidents were reported in Kech, Noshki and Panjgur.

Local sources said a large number of fighters entered the Zidi area of Khuzdar district at around 6am and took up positions at several locations, including police checkpoints and the main police station.

The fighters later set the police station on fire and ambushed military vehicles arriving from Khuzdar near Sorgaz, triggering intense clashes, the sources said. Gunship helicopters were also seen flying over the area.

Separately, local sources said fighters ambushed vehicles and motorcycle-borne personnel of Pakistani forces in the Minaz area of Buleda, Kech, leaving five personnel dead or injured.

Meanwhile, unidentified individuals destroyed a bridge on the Quetta–Taftan highway in the Batto area of Noshki after planting explosives beneath the structure on Thursday night.

Fighters also blocked the Panjgur–Chedgi route on Thursday and seized a vehicle carrying supplies for the Pakistani military, sources said.

No group had claimed responsibility for the attacks and other incidents at the time of publication.
