Residents of Mashkay in Balochistan’s Awaran district are reportedly facing severe shortages of food and essential supplies as a curfew and movement restrictions allegedly imposed by Pakistani forces continue for a second week.

According to reports, movement in the area has been almost completely restricted, causing shortages of food and essential supplies. Residents said the prolonged restrictions have also made it difficult for sick people to access hospitals or receive medical treatment.

Locals further claimed that the curfew has severely disrupted daily life and increased hardship for residents across the area.

Authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the reported restrictions or the reasons for the curfew.

Similar restrictions and lockdown measures have also been reported in recent months in areas including Noshki and Zehri, where residents previously reported disruptions to movement, trade and access to healthcare.

Residents said markets remained largely deserted during recent Eid days, while earlier reports from the region also alleged incidents in which patients were unable to receive timely medical treatment because of curfew-related restrictions.
