The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for an armed operation in the Karkh area of Khuzdar district, stating that its fighters temporarily took control of the town and targeted several government installations.

In a statement issued to the media, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said the operation took place on 4 March 2026 and involved a coordinated assault by the group’s fighters. According to the statement, the armed group surrounded Karkh from multiple directions and set up blockades on the town’s entry and exit routes.

The spokesperson alleged that BLF fighters first attacked a police checkpoint at Moola Cross on the Khuzdar–Ratto Dero section of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) route. The group claimed it seized weapons and equipment from the checkpoint before setting the facility on fire.

The statement further claimed that BLF fighters later moved into the centre of Karkh and took control of several government buildings, including a police station, a National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) office, a bank and the office of the Deputy Commissioner. The group alleged that records and state symbols inside these offices were destroyed and that weapons were seized.

According to the BLF, its fighters also carried out checks at roadblocks in the area and detained several individuals, including a police sub-inspector identified as Anwar Ali, a resident of Brahmanabad in Sindh. The group claimed the detainees were later released after questioning, while an injured police officer was reportedly sent to hospital.

The spokesperson also stated that two vehicles transporting marble were damaged during the operation, which the group said was intended to disrupt what it described as the exploitation of local resources.

The BLF further claimed that Pakistani security forces later attempted to advance towards the area and fired mortar shells from a distance. The group alleged that clashes occurred near Moola Cross, during which three soldiers were killed and several others injured.

According to the statement, the group’s fighters withdrew from the town later in the evening after completing the operation.

There has been no immediate confirmation or comment from Pakistani authorities regarding the incident or the claims made by the BLF.
