Three men have allegedly been forcibly disappeared by Pakistani armed forces in Gwadar district, local sources said on Sunday, amid continuing reports of enforced disappearances across Balochistan.
Sources said the men, identified as Rizwan Abdul Rasheed, Samad and Sabir Imam, were detained during a raid in the Panwan area of Jiwani tehsil and moved to an undisclosed location. They said no information had been provided about their whereabouts.
Families of the victims appealed to the authorities for the “safe and immediate recovery” of the missing men and urged officials to clarify the grounds on which they were taken into custody.
Residents of the area called on human rights organizations, civil society groups and the media to take notice of the incident, saying the alleged disappearances reflected what they described as an escalating pattern of enforced disappearances in Balochistan.
