The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), a “pro-independence” armed group, said on Wednesday that its fighters carried out two operations targeting supply and surveillance infrastructure used by Pakistani forces in Jiwani and Turbat.
In a media statement, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said the group’s fighters detonated a remote-controlled improvised explosive device on Tuesday against a vehicle transporting rations for Pakistani army personnel in the Do Biset O Panch area of Jiwani, Gwadar district. The group said the explosion caused “severe damage” to the vehicle.
In a separate attack on the same day, the BLA said its fighters blew up a communication tower in the Kalatuk area of Turbat, adding that Pakistani forces had installed “spy cameras” on the tower, which were being used to monitor movement in the area.
Pakistani authorities had not issued any statement responding to the BLA’s claims at the time of publication.
