At least three people have reportedly been subjected to enforced disappearance in separate incidents in Karachi and Balochistan’s Kech district, allegedly at the hands of Pakistani security forces.

According to local sources, Dad Kareem, son of Mullah Bakhsh, and Shoaib Ahmed, son of Wahid Bakhsh, were picked up from Karachi’s Malir area on August 24, 2025. Both men belong to the same family and are originally from Gebun in Kech district. Family members claim they were detained by Pakistani military personnel and taken to an undisclosed location.

On the same day, Usman Maqbool was also reportedly detained and disappeared by security forces. Maqbool had previously been subjected to enforced disappearance in 2019 and was released in 2021. His family and rights activists are now appealing to senior government officials for his immediate release.

The incidents come amid ongoing protests by families of Baloch missing persons across Quetta, Gwadar, Karachi, and Islamabad, demanding the safe recovery of their loved ones.

Enforced disappearances remain a persistent issue in Balochistan, with human rights groups frequently accusing Pakistani security agencies of involvement. Authorities, however, have largely denied these allegations or remained silent.
