Armed men reportedly kidnapped Assistant Commissioner (AC) along with his son in Ziarat district of Balochistan on Sunday.
According to reports, Armed men abducted Assistant Commissioner Ziarat, Muhammad Afzal Baqi, along with his son, Bilal Afzal, from the Zarzari area of Ziarat district. The assailants released other family members and security guards who were accompanying them.
According to officials, the Assistant Commissioner was visiting a picnic spot with his family when the attack occurred. Before fleeing, the abductors set the official’s vehicle on fire.
Deputy Commissioner Ziarat said a search operation has been launched to recover the abducted individuals.
On 4 June this year, Assistant Commissioner Hanif Noorzai was also abducted from Tump, a tehsil of Kech district in Balochistan, an act claimed by the Baloch nationalist armed group, the Balochistan Liberation Front. The latest incident hasn’t been claimed by any group yet.
