The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for a series of coordinated attacks on Pakistani military targets in Quetta, Mastung, and Naseerabad, resulting in the deaths of seven security personnel, including a senior officer.
In a statement issued to media, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said that the group’s fighters carried out three separate assaults targeting Pakistani forces across Balochistan.
According to the statement, the BLA’s Special Tactical Operations Squad (STOS), acting on intelligence provided by its covert wing “Zirab,” conducted a remote-controlled IED attack in the Jabal-e-Noor area of Quetta. The attack specifically targeted Major Anwar Kakar, a senior officer of the Pakistani military.
The BLA accused Major Kakar of being directly involved in military operations against Baloch “pro-independence” groups and leading “disinformation labs” under the supervision of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). According to the BLA, these operations involve managing fake social media accounts and websites aimed at masking the real situation in Balochistan and spreading pro-state propaganda.
The spokesperson claimed that the group had been monitoring Major Kakar for an extended period, tracking his movements and activities before carrying out the attack.
In a second incident, BLA fighters ambushed a military convoy near Yalli, close to Aab Gul in Mastung. According to the statement, the convoy was attempting to advance into the area when it was targeted. The BLA claims that six Pakistani soldiers were killed in the assault, and the forces suffered further losses in terms of vehicles and equipment.
A third attack took place in Naseerabad’s Manjho Shori area. The BLA stated that its fighters planted an explosive device at a temporary security post used by the military to provide protection to their convoys. The remote-controlled explosion reportedly left two soldiers severely wounded.
The BLA has claimed responsibility for all three attacks, reiterating its commitment to what it calls the “armed struggle for Baloch national liberation.”
