Political and social leaders in Kalat have strongly condemned what they describe as persistent interference by police in educational institutions under the guise of “awareness programs.” They expressed serious concerns about attempts to influence the minds of students and youth through such initiatives.
According to details, the Superintendent of Police (SP) Kalat recently visited the PPL Library in Kalat, where a police-led awareness session was reportedly held. However, local political representatives criticized the event, claiming it was a disguised effort to infiltrate educational spaces and manipulate young minds.
In a joint press release, the local leaders stated that while crimes such as theft, robbery, and murder are on the rise in Kalat, the police are neglecting their core duties and instead engaging in activities within schools and libraries.
The statement further alleged that the police, in a bid to gain favor with influential figures, are undermining public trust and promoting distorted perceptions among Baloch youth. The leaders labeled the initiative as a publicity stunt and condemned it in the strongest terms.
They also warned the heads of educational institutions to prevent any individuals or agencies from entering schools, colleges, or libraries with intentions to politicize or ideologically influence the environment.
The press release called on the government to redirect police efforts toward their fundamental duty of protecting the lives and property of citizens. It also urged authorities to ensure that educational institutions remain politically neutral and safe spaces for learning.
