A bullet-riddled body was discovered in the Buleda tehsil of Kech district, authorities confirmed on Tuesday. In a separate incident, a youth was reportedly shot dead by government-backed militia in the Gomazi area of Kech.
Levies forces recovered the body and transferred it to a local hospital for medico-legal procedures, where the victim was identified as Nizam Baloch. Sources told The Balochistan Post that Nizam Baloch had been forcibly disappeared from Buleda Gille Tehsil, Kech District. Medical officials reported that his body bore clear signs of severe torture. Authorities have yet to provide further details on the circumstances of his death.
Meanwhile, in another development, a young man identified as Shahnawaz, son of Muhammad Hayat, was allegedly killed by a government-backed militia, locally known as “Death Squads,” in Tump, a tehsil of Turbat. This marks the third such killing in the area within a short period. The recent wave of violence has sparked protests, with the victim’s family and local residents staging demonstrations demanding justice.
Human rights organization PAANK, in a post on X, called for international intervention, urging the global community to hold Pakistan accountable for human rights violations. “The systematic persecution of the Baloch people must end, and justice must be served for all victims of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings,” the statement read.
The latest killings have intensified concerns over the ongoing violence in Balochistan, where enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings continue to be reported frequently.
