Balochistan has seen a significant surge in militant activity on Wednesday, as multiple attacks are reported across various districts in the region, causing widespread disruptions. In the district of Kech, reports of bomb explosions and the torching of trucks have emerged. The armed groups are also carrying out a series of coordinated attacks in Kech, Gwadar, Bolan, and have taken control of strategic routes connected different main cities to one another.

On Wednesday evening, unknown armed individuals attacked several trucks on the CPEC highway near Haptari Kor in the Tajaban area of Kech. The attackers set fire to four trucks, though police reported that there were no casualties in the incident.

Meanwhile, in Turbat city, multiple explosions and gunshots were heard late in the evening, sparking panic among the local population. The local police have confirmed the explosions but have not yet identified the exact location. Sources on the ground reported a heavy presence of armed groups in the area, with fighters patrolling the streets and engaging in visible military activities. It is suspected that these attacks are part of a coordinated operation by Baloch insurgent groups across Balochistan.

In the Saami area of Turbat, the main camp of Pakistani security forces is reporteldy under attack by armed men. Locals have reported hearing gunfire and explosions from the site, with smoke and fire visibly emanating from the area. A similar attack has also been reported from the Mand area where another major camp of the security forces has been targeted.

These attacks appear to be a part of a series of coordinated attacks across Balochistan, with Baloch pro-independence groups targeting both military personnel and key infrastructure. The groups have reportedly taken control of several highways across the region, conducting snap checks on vehicles. Videos shared on social media show armed fighters blockading the Quetta-Karachi highway near Mastung at three separate points, with blockades observed in Khad Koocha, Killi Choto Baloch, and Zhalli. Other footage shows armed militants patrolling the streets of Kech on motorbikes, asserting their control over the area.

The armed groups reportedly clashed with the Pakistani security forces that were advancing in the region, purportedly to re-take control of the region. There are reports of multiple casualties, but the verity of which is yet to be established.

In Bolan’s Kolpur area, armed men reportedly destroyed a section of the road with a tractor, halting traffic in both directions. The area remains under the control of Baloch pro-independence groups. Similarly, the Makran Coastal Highway has also been blockaded at several points, disrupting travel and trade in the region.

Further reports indicate that road blockades have extended to other parts of Balochistan. In Panjgur, armed men established a blockade on the CPEC road. In Kharan, the insurgents set up barriers on the main highway leading to the city, with locals also reporting explosions in the vicinity. In Washuk district, armed groups attacked a Levies station, seizing a police motorcycle and a vehicle. A blockade has also been set up at Syedan Cross, where the insurgents are inspecting passing vehicles.

In Rajanpur, a gas pipeline running from Sibi to Punjab was targeted in a violent explosion that lit up the night sky, resulting in a massive fire.

The situation in Balochistan remains tense, with reports suggesting that pro-independence armed groups are executing a widespread operation against Pakistani security forces. Similar large-scale offensives have been observed in the past, with insurgents maintaining control over parts of Balochistan for hours or even days. Security forces have yet to issue a comprehensive statement on the extent of the damage or casualties.

This wave of attacks marks an intensification of the Baloch pro-independence groups’ ongoing campaign against Pakistani security forces.
