Pakistani forces have reportedly detained two young children in the Gomazi area of Balochistan’s Kech district, transferring them to an undisclosed location.

Local sources said the incident occurred on January 16, when security personnel detained Yousaf, son of Qasim, and Shahnawaz, son of Habib.
They added that Yousaf was later released after allegedly enduring physical and mental abuse, while Shahnawaz remains in custody with no information about his condition or whereabouts.

The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) condemned the incident in a statement on X, describing it as an “egregious violation of international laws designed to protect minors.”

The BYC said the two boys were taken while on their way to gather food for a sibling, adding that any harm to children is prohibited under “any circumstances of conflict or war.”

The group said that Yousaf was released following what it termed severe “physical and mental torture”, while Shahnawaz is still held by Pakistani forces.
The BYC called it a “grave escalation in the ongoing oppression of the Baloch people,” insisting that children must be exempt from harm under humanitarian principles.
