Pakistani forces were targeted on Thursday in Kalat, where a bomb explosion was followed by an armed assault by unidentified gunmen.
The attack took place between the Surkhin and Nechara areas, where the forces were reportedly on foot patrol. A bomb detonated during their advance, and attackers lying in wait opened fire with heavy weapons.
Local sources said the attack caused casualties among the forces. However, no official statement has been issued by military authorities, and no group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
