The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) says it carried out three attacks targeting Pakistani military and police personnel in Kech district’s Zamuran and Turbat areas. According to Major Gwahram Baloch, the BLF spokesperson, the assaults caused “significant human and material losses,” with weapons seized in one attack.
In a statement, the BLF said the first attack took place on January 17 at noon, when its Sniper Tactical Team allegedly killed a Pakistani soldier at Chur Mubarki Koh in Zamuran. BLF fighters then purportedly used automatic weapons to disrupt troop movements, leading to additional casualties and damage.
A second attack targeted a military checkpoint in the Paganzan area of Zamuran, where modern and heavy weapons were reportedly used. The BLF said two soldiers were injured in this attack.
The group also claimed responsibility for attacking a police checkpoint at Singani Sar in Turbat. BLF fighters allegedly seized weapons from the officers and set the checkpoint ablaze, warning them against further engagement. The BLF said the officers were released “unharmed due to their Baloch identity.”
The BLF statement accused the Pakistani forces of compelling local residents in mountainous areas to relocate. It also claimed that, confronted by guerrilla warfare, those forces now regard “all Baloch as resistance fighters,” which the BLF portrayed as evidence of a weakening military position.
Major Gwahram Baloch said the BLF takes responsibility for all three attacks and cautioned police personnel not to pursue BLF fighters, threatening further action if they do.
