Families of six individuals subjected to enforced disappearances in the Aapsar area of Turbat, Kech District, held a press conference at the Turbat Press Club on Monday, demanding the immediate recovery of their loved ones. The families warned that if their relatives are not brought to light within two days, they would stage a protest sit-in.
Speaking to journalists, one family reported that on December 10, Pakistani forces detained their three brothers — Ehsan Manzoor, Ittifaq Afzal Manzoor, and Hamid Manzoor — and took them to an unknown location. Since then, all three have been missing.
Another woman at the press conference revealed that three members of her family were also forcibly disappeared. She stated that her family member named Shamsuddin was taken by Pakistani forces from Turbat four years ago, while two others, Shahab and Abdul Wahab, were detained recently. Shahab was taken 18 days ago, and Abdul Wahab has been missing for the past five days.
The families expressed their anguish over the disappearances, describing the emotional and mental toll on their households. They demanded that if their loved ones are accused of any crime, they should be presented in court for a fair trial, so the families can be relieved from their ongoing suffering.
The relatives also issued a stern warning to district authorities and officials, stating that if no information is provided or their loved ones are not released within two days, they will be forced to hold a sit-in at a critical location, potentially even disrupting CPEC operations. They emphasized that the full responsibility for such actions would lie with the district administration and relevant authorities.
