Two Baloch “pro-independence” armed groups, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), have claimed responsibility for separate attacks on Pakistani military forces and vehicles involved in mineral extraction in Balochistan.
In a statement on Monday, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said that BLA fighters conducted three attacks in the Chamalang and Kalat regions on Sunday.
According to the statement, a remote-controlled explosive device targeted a Pakistani military vehicle at Triple Morh in Chamalang, reportedly killing one soldier and injuring three others. The vehicle sustained significant damage, he claimed.
The spokesperson said, “Last night, BLA fighters attacked a vehicle of the occupying Pakistani army using a remote-controlled IED at Triple Morh in Chamalang, eliminating one enemy personnel and injuring at least three others. The vehicle sustained severe damage.”
Earlier that day, the BLA reportedly set fire to three trucks involved in mineral transport in Chamalang. Later, another mineral transport vehicle was destroyed in the Mahlebi area of Kalat, marking the third attack. The BLA described these attacks as part of their campaign against what they view as the “exploitation of Baloch resources.”
Separately, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for an attack on Pakistani forces in the Kolwah area of Awaran. BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said that BLF fighters ambushed a Pakistani convoy in the Abdo Bazaar area, resulting in the deaths of six soldiers.
“This convoy of Pakistani forces had entered Awaran and surrounding areas for an operation, but based on intelligence from the BLF’s intelligence team, the organization’s special squad, along with a patrol team, launched a severe attack on them,” he said.
The BLF spokesperson further emphasized the organization’s newly adapted tactics. “The BLF has modernized its strategies to meet current warfare demands,” he added, noting that their intelligence, special squad, and Qurban Unit are actively working to deliver what he described as “unexpected blows to the enemy.” He stated that future attacks would intensify, aiming to weaken Pakistani forces and secure Baloch independence.
Both the BLA and BLF reiterated their commitment to continued operations, stating that their attacks would persist until Pakistani forces withdraw from Balochistan.
