Reports from Balochistan indicate that Pakistani security forces are continuing their operations in Balochistan’s Kalat district, with local sources confirming that around forty individuals have forcibly disappeared in the region.
According to reports, individuals from the areas of Kalat City, Iskalku, Yousafi, and Harboi have reportedly gone missing in the past few days. Sources suggest that eight people from Harboi were detained by security forces while traveling back to their homes from Kalat city. These individuals were allegedly taken to an unknown location.
Additionally, a large number of people from Iskalku and Yousafi have also reportedly been abducted by the forces. The situation is further complicated by communication blackouts in the region, making it difficult to obtain more information about the missing individuals.
The military operation in the area remains ongoing, but local authorities have yet to comment on these reports of forced disappearances.
Meanwhile, in Karachi, a young man from Awaran has also been reported missing after being detained by Pakistani military personnel. The missing individual, Pervaiz s/o Abdul Samad, was taken into custody on the night of November 25 in the Liyari area of Karachi.
Pervaiz, who had been working in the United Arab Emirates for several years, was in Karachi when he was detained by the military. His family and human rights organizations such as Paank, the human rights wing of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), have condemned the enforced disappearance and are calling for his immediate release.
