Three Baloch men have reportedly been forcibly disappeared by Pakistani security forces in the industrial city of Hub, Balochistan, according to local sources.
Shabbir Ahmed s/o Amir Ahmed, was reportedly detained near Ashok Pump on September 26. Two other men, Aftab Ahmed s/o Nazir Ahmed, and Rashid Ali, were reportedly taken at gunpoint from Sakran Road on September 29. All three men are cousins and residents of Ameerabad.
Shabbir Ahmed is said to be a rickshaw driver, while Aftab Ahmed works as a truck co-driver, and Rashid Ali is a motorcycle mechanic. The families of the three men have received no information about their whereabouts or condition since the alleged abductions.
Meanwhile, four Baloch students who were detained in Lahore, Punjab, have been released. The students, including Shamrez Badini and Deedag Zehri, were detained by police and intelligence officers during late-night raids on hostels at Punjab University and the University of Lahore.
The students were taken to unknown locations following their detention, sparking concern among human rights activists, who have long raised alarm over the targeting of Baloch students and activists across Pakistan.
