The train service in Balochistan has been suspended for 14 days, causing the railway authorities to incur daily losses of 1.5 million rupees.

The train service from Quetta to various cities within Balochistan and the rest of Pakistan has been halted due to the collapse of the Dozan Bridge. According to railway officials, the train service between Sibbi and Harnai has been suspended since July 23. Despite one and a half months passing, the railway track in Harnai has not yet been repaired. Similarly, the Quetta-Taftan railway section has been closed for 15 days, and the railway line washed away in Chagai has not been restored either.

The Quetta-Chaman train service has been suspended for 10 days, and the repair of the Shela Bagh tunnel may take another 15 days. Railway officials have stated that the suspension of train services in the province is causing the railway department a daily loss of 1.5 million rupees.

It is important to note that two weeks ago, the Baloch Liberation Army targeted multiple central railway lines in Balochistan, including Bolan, Mastung, Dera Murad Jamali, Noshki, and Quetta, as part of its “Operation Herof”. During these attacks, the main bridge at Dozan in Bolan was also destroyed.

Railway officials also mentioned that after the attacks, rainfall in Chaghi and other areas further damaged the railway lines, and additional time is needed for their restoration.
