A man abducted by alleged government-backed armed men in Balochistan’s Kech district has been found dead.

According to reports, the tortured body of a man named Hakeem, son of Ali Murad, was discovered in the Gedrank village of Buleda. Local sources confirmed to a correspondent of The Balochistan Post that Hakeem was abducted from his shop in Beleda at 9 p.m. on August 26 by operatives of a state-sponsored militia, locally known as a “death squad.”

The deceased’s body was discovered by residents of the area and was subsequently shifted to Teaching Hospital Turbat. According to locals, Hakeem Baloch was an educated and talented businessman who had been running a shop in Gedrank for the last ten years.

The residents of the area expressed anger over the tragic incident and demanded that authorities hold the killers of Hakeem Baloch accountable. They also called for justice for his family and urged action against the criminals operating in the area.

It is important to note that this is not the first such incident in which these so-called “death squads” have killed a civilian. Baloch political and social circles allege that these death squads do not face any legal action due to the support they receive from Pakistani forces and intelligence agencies.

These groups are reportedly active in various parts of Balochistan and are accused of numerous criminal activities, including kidnappings for ransom, enforced disappearances, extortion, and the targeted assassinations of political activists. Political and human rights activists allege that these ‘death squads’ are supported by the Pakistan army and secret agencies as part of efforts to counter the ongoing independence movement in Balochistan.
