Two major ‘pro-independence’ armed groups in Balochistan, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), have claimed responsibility for a series of recent attacks targeting Pakistani security forces and infrastructure across the region.

In a media statement issued on Tuesday, Jeeyand Baloch, spokesperson for the BLA, claimed responsibility for an IED attack on a Pakistani military convoy in the Iskalko area of Kalat. The attack allegedly resulted in the deaths of two soldiers and injuries to four others.

The BLA spokesperson said that BLA fighters targeted a vehicle in a convoy of twelve military vehicles using a remote-controlled IED. The convoy was advancing in the area as part of a military operation.

“The explosion resulted in the deaths of two enemy personnel, including Naik Shafqat, and injuries to four others including Naik Shah Nawaz, Sepoy Bashir, Sepoy Owais Ahmed, and Sepoy Muhammad Afzal,” Jeeyand Baloch said.

In a separate media statement on Monday, Jeeyand Baloch detailed three other attacks carried out by the group’s fighters in the Mach, Buleda, and Dera Bugti areas of Balochistan. These attacks targeted gas pipelines, Pakistani security forces, and their supply lines.

According to Jeeyand Baloch, on Sunday night, BLA fighters destroyed a 24-inch diameter gas pipeline in the Kohbash area of Mach using explosives, causing significant damage.

In Buleda, BLA fighters intercepted a vehicle transporting rations to Pakistani forces in the Samsuri Kaur area. While the vehicle was confiscated, the driver, a resident of Sindh, was later released along with the vehicle after being issued a warning.

Additionally, on June 16, BLA fighters targeted Pakistani military personnel with an IED in the Pir Koh Patra area of Dera Bugti while they were on patrol, resulting in injuries to two soldiers.

In a separate media statement, Major Gohram Baloch, spokesperson for the BLF, claimed responsibility for two attacks on Pakistani forces in Kalat.

He stated that on the night of June 28, BLF fighters attacked an FC camp in the Johan area using rockets and other modern weapons. “The attack caused significant human and material losses to the enemy forces,” Major Gohram Baloch said.

He added that following the attack, the Pakistani forces fired several mortar rounds, and spy drones patrolled the area. Helicopters also shelled the site heavily at 6 AM, but the BLF fighters successfully withdrew to secure hideouts.

In another attack on June 30, BLF fighters targeted an FC post at Johan Shay Mardan in Kalat with sniper rifles, rocket launchers, and other weapons, allegedly resulting in heavy casualties and material losses for the Pakistani forces.

Both Jeeyand Baloch and Major Gohram Baloch reiterated their groups’ commitment to continuing their struggle against Pakistani forces until Balochistan achieves liberation.
