The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has released an audio message from Sumaiya Qalandrani, the second Baloch female ‘fidayee’ (self-sacrificer), on their official media channel, “Hakkal,” marking her first death anniversary.

Last year on June 24, Sumaiya Qalandrani targeted a VIP convoy of Pakistani forces in the Kech district of Balochistan. The attack resulted in severe damage to multiple vehicles and reportedly caused several casualties. The BLA’s Majeed Brigade claimed responsibility for the attack, identifying Sumaiya Qalandrani as the ‘fidayee’ (self-sacrificer).

In her posthumous audio message released on Monday, Sumaiya Qalandrani expressed her dedication to the Baloch cause and urged others to join the struggle for their homeland. “Today I am so happy that I cannot express it. I believe that if one is to marry, it should be with love for the homeland and ideology. In my view, nothing matters except for the homeland,” she said.

Sumaiya highlighted the suffering of Baloch families, saying, “Today you see cries of sisters everywhere, mothers are weeping, and brothers are being disappeared. In such circumstances, if we prioritize our personal lives, it is not a noble act in my opinion.”

She condemned those who ignore the plight of their nation, calling it cowardice. “I cannot adopt such behavior, and no one should. Why do we adopt such personal desires? Is our ideology weak? Are we not brave? Are we cowards?”

In a powerful call to action, she said, “Today I am offering my life for my homeland. I am going with great happiness because I am fortunate to have the opportunity to do something for my homeland. I urge my sisters and mothers to join and be a part of this struggle. This is the path, this is the struggle, and today the Baloch nation has no other path left.”

Sumaiya emphasized the need to break gender stereotypes within their struggle. “We must end the narrow-minded thinking that differentiates between men and women,” she said.

Addressing her enemy, she added, “We must send a message to our enemy and the world that the Baloch are a progressive nation that cannot tolerate injustice or accept slavery in any form. The way you treat the Baloch, you will receive double in return.”

She recounted the emotional toll of the struggle, “Whenever I closed my eyes, I heard the cries of my mothers, sisters, and brothers. I would wake up from sleep feeling that my motherland was calling me, asking me what I was doing for her.”

Sumaiya urged Baloch women to continue their fight for independence. “We need to end the small-minded thinking that our women cannot do anything. Women can do everything, and today we (women) can do what perhaps men cannot. Today, our nation needs us.”

She called for celebrations in her honor, “Celebrate this day of my martyrdom as you would celebrate Eid, adorn with henna, shower flowers, have gatherings, and create an atmosphere of joy. It will make me happy to know that my mothers and sisters are with me.”

Sumaiya reiterated her dedication to the Baloch cause and urged others to be part of it, “We need to carry forward this act of sacrifice and never stop it. I know I am going today, but my homeland will be free after me. Today I am giving a message to the mothers, sisters, children of my homeland, the whole world, and my enemy. I am telling the world with my blood that my homeland is enslaved.”

She also called on future generations of Baloch, “We know that freedom will not come easily, but we must never let our enemy go; we must show them. This path of fidayee was shown to us by fidayee Darwesh, and it was given a new form by fidayee Rehan Jan.”

She further said, “If ever your hearts feel sorrow for us, do not shed tears for us. When a tear falls from your eyes for us, remember all the Baloch martyrs who left their children, sacrificed their personal lives, and joined this struggle.”

“Every Fidayee of the Majeed Brigade left their children, mothers, sisters, wives, and went on their mission with joy. They sacrificed themselves with pride. So never shed tears; this is a day of joy. After us, you come forward to carry on this struggle.”

She concluded with a resolute note, “History shows that nations standing for their rights and fighting their enemies make their enemies bite the dust. One day our enemy will also be reduced to ashes. My mothers, sisters, these words of mine will reach you when I am no longer among you, but do not shed tears. Celebrate this day with joy.”

“I will not bid farewell to my comrades, my mothers, sisters. I will always be with you. Wherever there is a small spark of passion for the motherland in anyone’s heart, I will be present in that heart. I will be present until my land is free. The day my homeland is free, that day I will bid you farewell. Until then, I am with you.”
