A series of road accidents and violent clashes across various districts of Balochistan has resulted in four deaths and four injuries.
In a road accident near the Pakistan Coast Guards in Othal, Lasbela district, a collision between a motorcycle and a truck led to one death on the spot and another person injured. The victim was identified as Qadir Bakhsh, and the injured, Muhammad Anwar Sheikh, was subsequently referred to Karachi for advanced medical care.
In another accident in the Lang Lohar area of Sakran, Hub district, a Suzuki van was overrun by a loaded truck, claiming the lives of two individuals, Muhammad Hanif and Ayaz, both belonging to the Jamali tribe.
Tensions flared in Naseerabad’s Manjho Shori area where a tribal altercation escalated into gunfire, leaving Shamsher dead and another person wounded. The tension caused by this clash spread fear among the local population. The deceased’s body was handed over to his family following necessary legal formalities.
Meanwhile, Dukki saw a fatal theft attempt on Monday when Sharaf ud Din, a coal mine engine driver, was killed by assailants during a mobile phone robbery. The body was transported to the hospital and later handed over to relatives.
In Kech district’s Tump area, an attack targeted the house of a local named Sharif, causing significant damage but no injuries.
In a related development, a tenth-grade student, Abdul Razzaq, s/o Habib Baloch, died in hospital from injuries sustained in a road accident days earlier, adding to the toll of a perilous week for the region.
