Richard Boyd Barrett, a member of the Irish Parliament from Dublin, raised the issue of human rights violations in Balochistan before the Irish Foreign Minister. He urged him to address the matter with the Pakistani government.
Irish Foreign Minister Michael Martin confirmed that Ireland is already aware of the issues in Balochistan and has raised it with Pakistani authorities on multiple occasions. He affirmed that Ireland maintains a deep concern for human rights and the political situation in Balochistan.
It is worth noting that previously, nine members of the British Parliament had signed a petition in support of the Baloch Long March. The signed petition included members from the Labour Party, Scottish National Party, and Democratic Unionist Party, expressing admiration for the leadership of Baloch women in the Long March and the sit-in protest in Islamabad.
The agreement also condemned violence against Baloch women by Pakistani forces.
