The central spokesperson for the Baloch Doctors Forum (BDF) has expressed serious concerns about alleged threats received by senior members of their community. These allegations emerged after the doctors were reportedly summoned by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) based on a social media news item.
The BDF claims that the senior doctors have received anonymous messages and calls, actions they consider highly inappropriate and disrespectful to the professional dignity of their colleagues.
Additionally, the spokesperson highlighted the potential risks to their doctors, stating that Dr. Faheem Afridi would be held fully responsible should any harm befall them. However, specific details of Dr. Afridi’s alleged involvement or the nature of the threats were not elaborated upon in the statement.
The Forum also expressed concerns that actions perceived to be based on linguistic or ethnic discrimination are especially unacceptable in a field as noble as medicine. They indicated that such behaviors would warrant reprimand within the medical community.
Finally, the spokesperson called for an investigation into the matter. The BDF urged the Chief Minister of Balochistan, the Minister of Health, and the Secretary of Health to take these allegations seriously. They proposed the formation of an impartial committee to conduct a transparent inquiry and reveal the truth to the public.
