Two young men have been reportedly detained by Pakistani security forces in the districts of Quetta and Kech. Yahya, a resident of Quetta, and Sher Jan, son of Liaqat Amin from Turbat, are the two latest names in a growing list Baloch missing persons.

Local sources have said that Sher Jan, a 22-year-old shopkeeper, was taken from near the Balochi Bazaar in Aapsar, Turbat, around 6 pm on August 11, 2023.

These detentions come amidst reports of a broader pattern. Over a period of just 48 hours, 14 individuals from various parts of Balochistan, including Panjgur, Khuzdar, and Turbat, have allegedly been taken into custody by Pakistani forces. Notably, the Khairabad area of Kech has seen a significant number of such disappearances, with seven individuals reported missing.
