During a polio vaccination campaign in Balochistan’s Mastung district, an incident unfolded as unidentified armed individuals opened fire on the polio campaign workers in the Killi Karez area. A police officer named Shehzad lost his life in the incident, while the polio workers escaped unharmed.
Following the attack, the dead body of Shehzad was transferred to Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Hospital. It has been reported that the assailants also seized the policeman’s firearm before fleeing the scene. In response to the incident, the Chief Minister of Balochistan expressed condemnation, denouncing the violent act.
