A young boy was bitten by a deadly scorpion in Gwadar, a coastal city in Balochistan, and died due to the unavailability of a doctor in the hospital. The incident occurred at the GD Indus hospital where the boy was taken for immediate treatment, but he could not be saved due to the lack of proper first aid treatment as well.
Gwadar is a city that houses the flagship project of China’s Belt and Road Initiative, the CPEC. However, it has been facing issues such as lack of clean drinking water, quality education, healthcare, and internet connection. Additionally, the city also has a significant presence of Chinese people working on various CPEC projects, leading to heavy militarization causing difficulties to the locals.
Due to these issues, the people of Gwadar frequently protest on the streets demanding their rights. The city has been in the limelight for the past two years due to large-scale protests.
