The mother of Rasheed Baloch died on Wednesday while waiting for her “missing” son, who has been forcibly disappeared for four years.

According to family sources, Rasheed’s mother suffered a heart attack last night and the heart attack proved fatal.

Saira Baloch, sister of missing Asif and cousin of Rasheed confirmed the incident on Twitter saying, “Who says that the state is a mother, it is swallowing our mothers. The mother of the missing Rashid longed to see her son and died ”

“What a painful moment that a son could not see his mother for the last time and the mother died of a heart attack due to the trauma of the enforced disappearance of her son for years. She kept calling Rasheed’s name till the end”, Saira said in the twitter post.

On August 31, 2018, Pakistani forces detained 10 people for going to the Zangi Nawar, a picnic point in Noshki. However, the men were later kept missing. The rest of those who went missing were released at different times in the last two years, while Asif and Rasheed Baloch, who were detained along with them, are still missing.

For the recovery of missing Asif and Rasheed, their relatives have recorded protests in Quetta, Karachi, and Islamabad, but their beloved ones have not yet returned.

In Balochistan, the mothers of many missing people have died while waiting for their missing children. While during the demonstrations for the recovery of missing relatives, heart-wrenching scenes have been seen that the parents of the missing people have fainted and been hospitalized.

Nationalist parties and human rights organisations in Balochistan blame Pakistani forces for human rights violations and enforced disappearances in Balochistan.
