The Pakistanis security forces allegedly abducted a Baloch youth from Khuzdar on Friday and moved him to an unknown location. The young man was reportedly picked up previously and subsequently released.

According to sources, the security raises ‘forcibly disappeared’ Shafiq s/o Hayat, a resident of the Mishk area of Zehri, who was working at the Gidan Hotel on the main RCD Highway in Khuzdar. Shafiq was reportedly picked up from the hotel he was serving his shift.

Local sources have revealed that Shafiq was also picked up in the past by the security forces but subsequently released.

It should be noted that ‘enforced disappearances have become a major human rights issue in Balochistan in the past few years. Rights groups, activists, investigative journalists and political workers blame the Pakistani security forces for the disappearances.
