The levies force has arrested a father for selling his daughter. The accused had sold his 20-days-old minor daughter, a senior Levies official confirmed.
The wife had accused her husband of torturing her and snatching the daughter to sell her. “We have recovered the girl and handed over to her mother”, Levies officer said.
According to Sher Muhammad Marri, an officer of the Levies force, the incident of selling the minor girl happened in Kohlu district of Balochistan. He said the accused had married another woman and was subjecting the first wife to torture and violence.
The woman alleged that the husband was not giving her proper food and was subjecting her to violence and this she had brought to the notice of the tribal elders. The woman complained that the husband had forced her to leave her home and she had taken refuge in the house of her brother.
Despite assurances before the tribal elders, the husband was beating me, the woman complained.
Levies sources and local residents of the area said the father had sold his daughter in Rs. 2 lakh. The mother of the minor girl claimed that her husband had written a stamp paper with the man buying her daughter.
