The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for two separate attacks on Pakistani security forces in Turbat and Awaran that reportedly left two dead. The BLF said that such attacks will continue until the independence of Balochistan.
In the media statement, Major Gohram Baloch, the spokesperson for the group, said that BLF fighters had hurled a grenade at the security checkpoint at Cinema Chowk in Turbat. He said that two soldiers had died in the attack.
BLF also claimed responsibility for the attack on security forces in the Jhaoo area of district Awaran where the forces reportedly sustained heavily material losses and casualties.
The Pakistani forces are frequently targeted in such attacks throughout Balochistan and beyond. In response, the forces conduct large-scale military operations in such volatile areas in an attempt to corner the attackers. One such operation is reportedly underway in district Bolan – the epicenter of the current wave of Baloch insurgency.
According to sources, a large body of the security forces is marching through several areas of Bolan and Machh. The forces also have considerable aerial support in their operations on the ground.
