Dozens of locals have been taken away by Pakistani security forces during the large-scale military operation in different areas of Bolan. Whereas, the military operation, that started in the region on 27th December 2020, continued on Wednesday.

According to reliable local sources, scores of civilians have been arrested from the surrounding areas of Shahrag in Bolan in last two days, and have been taken to unknown locations by Pakistani military.

TBP has been able to ascertain the identities of at least 13 individuals, who remain missing since they were arrested by Pakistani forces. These include:

  4. Tayyab Ahmed s/o Malik Manzoor Ahmed
  5. Saeed Ahmed s/o Nazeer Ahmed
  6. Hafeez Ur Rehman s/o Abdul Rehman
  7. Aziz Ur Rehman
  8. Abdul Razaq s/o Sher Zaman
  9. Noor Mohammad
  10. Sabir Khan s/o Ghazi Khan
  11. Ali Mohammad s/o Zafar Khan
  12. Khalid Dad s/o Khera
  13. Munda s/o Mohammad Ameen

The military operation in Bolan commenced after Pakistani forces were targeted twice within a span of 24 hours in Jhalawan Thankk area of Bolan by BLA. Gunship helicopters were spotted by locals shelling in mountainous areas of Jhambaro, Thalaang and Kamaan, whereas, fresh troops were seen arriving at Harnai military camps.

Baloch activists and human rights organisations allege that civilians are targeted by Pakistani forces whenever they are attacked by Baloch armed groups. They term the practice as “collective punishment”.
