According to details, first online Balochi to English dictionary has been launched, which can be reached online by TheBalochi.com. The Balochi dictionary is based on the previous work of Dr. Naseer Dashti, who first-ever comprehended a Balochi to English dictionary containing over 30,000 Balochi words.
Dr. Naseer Dashti is a Baloch Author who has published many books on socio-political issues the Baloch are facing and contributed numerous articles on South Central Asian current affairs and issues particularly in Balochistan. His books included: The cultural context of health; Baloch and Balochistan; The Baloch Conflict with Iran and Pakistan and Tears of Sindhu. He is also working on Encyclopedia of Balochistan.
The first ever online Balochi to English and English Dictionary will not only be useful for finding words but it also covers the Part of speech, Origin of words, Vowel and Consonant.
As per the reports, the Baloch people in general and students in particular are appreciating the launch of the online dictionary. Baloch students and philologists say “for not having the google translate option for Balochi language, Baloch people search and borrow other regional words but now they are hopeful that after the establishment and regular online use of Balochi dictionary will one day lead to the google translate option for Balochi too.”
