Two young men have been forcibly disappeared in various raids, in Karachi, and Hub Chowki city of Balochistan.

According to reports, Pakistani forces and intelligence personnel allegedly raided a house in Hub Chowki, the industrial city of Balochistan, arrested a Baloch youth and subsequently moved him to an unknown location.

The youth who went missing from Hub is identified as Chakar son of Abdul Salam.

In another news, the Pakistani forces have allegedly abducted Abdul Qayoom, a resident of Zamuran, Balochistan from Malir area of Karachi.

The series of forced disappearances has been going on for years, however after the recent attack on Karachi Stock Exchange by a Baloch armed organization, numbers of people have been allegedly abducted from Karachi and adjoining areas in search operations by the law enforcement forces.

According to the family of Chakar, who went missing from Hub, “Chakar is a mentally handicapped person and we appeal human rights organizations to play their role for his safe release.”

The issue of missing persons in Balochistan has become a serious problem. As per the local reports, almost every day, Pakistani forces and intelligence agencies carry out raids and operations in different areas and disappear people after arresting them.

Political and social circles in Balochistan are strongly condemning the resurgence of enforced disappearances. Whereas, peaceful protests have been going on in Quetta and Karachi for more than a decade for the recovery of missing persons.
