Baloch leader and head of Baloch Liberation Army, Basheer Zeb Baloch, has said that Baloch will continue their struggle for freedom despite regional changes in Afghanistan.
Mr. Baloch’s statement came in the wake of agreement between Afghan Taliban and United States.
In a series of tweets on the microblogging website Twitter, the Baloch leader said: “whether new agreements are formulated or more wars erupt in the region, the Baloch nation will continue to further the national struggle for survival and freedom to achieve the ultimate goals.”
He also expressed concerns at the role of Pakistan and said that the real and long lasting peace in Afghanistan can only be achieved if Pakistani state stops interfering in Afghanistan and [stops] backstabbing the Afghan nation.
Basheer Zeb Baloch has reportedly succeeded Aslam Baloch to lead BLA after the later was killed in a suicide attack in 2018.
Balochistan shares a several hundred miles long border with Afghanistan and the border region on the both sides has been volatile in terms of security since Taliban came in rule in Afghanistan in 90s.
In a previous statement the Baloch leader had also said that, “US is committing a historical mistake by trusting Pakistan. Expecting peace from a state, whose whole foreign policy is based on terrorism, is nothing but self-deception”.
