Pneumonia turns epidemic in Maiwand tehsil of Kohlu district
According to the details received by the Balochistan Post, as temperature drops at the beginning of new year, Pneumonia disease turns epidemic in several towns of Kohlu district that lack basic health facilities.
Harbawar town of Maiwand tehsil has suffered the most, where 30 people have been shifted to the district headquarter hospital, including 15 children and 8 women.
According to hospital sources, 3 children and another man have already lost their lives due to severe Pneumonia, who could be saved if brought to early to the hospital.
Lack of health facilities in the district has added more to the miseries of the affected population of Harbawar town.
It is pertinent to mention that the Provincial Health Minister Naseeb Ullah Marri hails from the same district, yet no change has been observed since the new government has come in power.
People in such towns of Balochistan have to travel hundreds of miles to reach a Basic Health Unit(BHU).
