Unknown armed men attacked personnel of Frontier Corps (FC), a paramilitary of Pakistan, in Kohlu on Wednesday.

According to the details received by the Balochistan Post, early on Wednesday, personnel of FC came under attack by unknown armed assailants near FC camp Kahaan in Kohlu district.

The attack was carried out with machine guns and rockets from nearby mountains. The bilateral firing continued for hours, resulting in multiple casualties of FC troops.

TBP sources claimed that forces suffered heavy losses during the clash, which led to an on-going military operation in the area after the attack.

Bomb disposal squad also found a landmine during the operation in the area and disabled it.

Kohlu district is one of the most volatile districts in Balochistan, as Pakistani forces often come under attack by Baloch insurgents.

No organization claimed the responsibility for the attack at the time of filing this report.
