Kerala: Worst monsoon in a century took hundreds of lives

Almost every district in the state has been affected by the worst flooding in a century in the past 11 days and predicted to continue for next two days at least.

With more than 680,000 people sheltering in relief camps and thousands of others on high ground in areas cut off by floods, supplying food, medicine and clean water is a growing challenge for authorities.

Authorities have called for extra food, water and medicines to supply more than 1,500 relief camps that have sprung up around the state.
