Five people died, whereas four were injured in road accidents across Balochistan on Friday.
According to the details received by the Balochistan Post, a woman was killed in a road accident in the industrial city of Hub near a police station when she and another were hit by a car.
The woman, whose identity could not be ascertained immediately, died on the spot, while the injured was shifted to the nearby hospital.
Yesterday, a child was also killed in a road accident in Hub city.
Moreover, a man died in Zhob and another was injured in Sibi town of Balochistan when vehicles and motorbikes collided. First incident occurred on ‘Landi Cross’ in Sibi city, when a van hit a motor bike, injuring Muhammad Bakhash S/O Haji Muhammad Hassan Khosa. Second incident occurred on Quetta road in Zhob, when a Vigo truck hit a bike, killing the driver of the bike and injuring his companion.
However, road accident on the infamous ‘Buzi Top’, on coastal highway was the most fatal accident on Friday, which took more than three lives and injured many others. The injured were shifted to the nearby hospital.
Most of the accidents on coastal highway occur on ‘Buzi Top’ and ‘Dil Turs’ areas, as the mountains were not cut properly to lessen the height. Locals have demanded a tunnel in these two passes in past.
Road accidents are a common occurrence in Balochistan due to outdated roads. The national highways have not been upgraded for decades and the high number of inadequate dual carriageways have also proved fatal for the increasing traffic.
