In another attack on polio workers, a female health worker has been stabbed in Quetta by unknown assailants.
According to details received by The Balochistan Post, unknown assailants riding on motorbikes attacked a female polio health worker in Nawa Killi area of Quetta.
24 year old Shazia Durrani suffered traumatic injuries during the attack.
Polio workers have come under attack on several occasions since it was revealed that the CIA used a polio vaccination campaign as a ruse to get information on al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden, who was killed by US commandos in Pakistan in 2011.
Baloch political organisations allege Pakistani secret agencies of backing the religious extremists behind such attacks.
Pakistan is one of the only countries in the world where polio is still endemic, along with Afghanistan and Nigeria.
