In 3 different incidents of gun attack and burglary, 4 people died and two others received injuries.

According to details received by The Balochistan Post, a woman and her four-year-old child were killed on resistance during a burglary at their house in Turbat city of Balochistan, on Monday night.

After the murder, other members of the family caught the robbers and handed them over to the police.

According to police, two other accomplices of the robbers were arrested after a preliminary investigation.

Police added that Ak47 and a motorcycle used in the theft and murder were also recovered and further investigation is underway.

It should be noted that thefts and robberies have been on the rise in Turbat and surrounding areas for a long time.

Talking to The Balochistan Post, a resident, Abdul Waheed Dashti said that despite the siege of Turbat city by Frontier Corps (FC), police and other security agencies, the incidents of theft and robbery in the city are question marks.

He added that the operatives of local armed groups, also known as ‘death squads’ set up by the forces and intelligence agencies have also been given free rein, which has led to an increase in thefts and robberies.

In another news on Monday, two people were killed and two others, including Levies personnel were injured in two separate incidents of firing in Zehri area of Khuzdar district.

Both the incidents of firing took place in Noorgama Bazaar of Zehri, in which a Levies forces’ personnel, named Salman was killed and two others Riaz and Shabbir were injured while the person killed in the other incident could not be identified.

According to Levies officials, the injured and the bodies were shifted to the hospital while the assailants escaped in both the incidents. However, the search for the assailants is underway by cordoning off the area.

Later on Monday evening, the attack on Levies personnel was claimed by a pro-independence armed group known as Baloch Liberation Army (BLA).

“BLA fighters today targeted three levies personnel at Norgama Bazaar in Zehri area of district Khuzdar of Balochistan, who were working under patronage of Pakistani secret services. One Levies personnel was killed while two others were wounded in the attack,” said Jeeyand Baloch, the spokesman for the organization.

He further said “Salman, who was killed and Riaz and Shabbir, who were injured in the firing, have been on the Baloch Liberation Army’s “hit list” for a long time. These men, particularly Riaz was active against the Baloch liberation movement. They were using the Levies Force to spy on Baloch Pro-independence people in Zehri and surrounding areas. In these anti-movement operations, they had the patronage and support of not only Pakistani intelligence agencies but also local so-called (tribal chiefs) Mirs and Sardars and religious extremist terrorist groups.

The anti-movement group of Levies personnel was led by the injured Riaz. The group was not only involved in anti-movement activities but was also active in various social crimes including drug trafficking, extortion, robbery and harassing the locals on a daily basis, the spokesman said.

“The Baloch Liberation Army had informed the nation on June 28, 2019, after targeting Levies Line Officer, Ataullah Zehri in Zehri that the enemy was now openly using the Levies Force against the Baloch liberation movement. The last warning was that “working in any military institutes of the enemy, including the police and levies, falls into the category of Baloch hostility, but the police and levies are given exception on the basis of Baloch majority.” Attacks will not be indiscriminate as long as they remain neutral,” Jeeyand Baloch said in his statement.

The BLA has so far maintained its policy of not attacking indiscriminately the Police and Levies as an institution, but if anti-Baloch activities by these institutions intensify, then we will reconsider our policy, he added.
