The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) said on Wednesday that it carried out more than 25 attacks across Balochistan between October 26 and November 3, claiming more than 40 Pakistani personnel and members of state-backed armed groups were killed and dozens wounded.

In a statement, spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said fighters targeted the Pakistani military, intelligence personnel and armed groups it described as “death squads” through “field operations and intelligence-based operations”. Several military and logistical vehicles were also destroyed, he added.

Convoy Ambushes and Clashes

The BLA said more than nine personnel were killed and several wounded when its fighters ambushed a convoy of more than 30 vehicles in Khuzdar’s Karkh area on October 26. The convoy included vehicles belonging to the Pakistani military, police, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and Anti-Terrorism Force (ATF), as well as those assigned to Khuzdar Range Deputy Inspector General Imran Qureshi and the district’s senior superintendent of police.

Three vehicles were disabled in the attack, the group said, adding that its fighters had maintained a blockade on the Quetta–Karachi highway from 6 p.m. the previous evening until the following morning, stopping and checking passing vehicles.

In Kharan, the BLA claimed responsibility for an October 28 convoy ambush at Barshonki, alleging “heavy casualties and financial losses”. The group also reported prolonged fighting in Lejay and surrounding areas on November 1, when its fighters ambushed advancing Pakistani troops and destroyed a military vehicle with a remotely detonated explosive device.

“Intense clashes continued for over five hours across three different locations,” the statement said, claiming more than eight personnel were killed and several wounded. Another military vehicle was targeted in an explosion in the same area the following day, forcing the troops to retreat, it added.

The BLA said its fighters carried out two further convoy attacks in Kharan on November 3, targeting military vehicles at Zomi in the morning and Nauroz Qalat that night. At least three personnel were killed in the Zomi ambush, while a military post at Rotinko was also targeted with heavy weapons, causing casualties and material losses, according to the group.

Elsewhere, the BLA said fighters ambushed a military convoy in Turbat’s Giban area on October 27, targeting two vehicles and killing three personnel. A military foot patrol was also targeted with a remotely detonated explosive device in Kech’s Hirronk Kanrak area that day.

In Basima, four personnel were killed and at least seven critically wounded when fighters attacked a military convoy near Sajid on October 28, the statement claimed. Another convoy vehicle was targeted in Panjgur’s Gowargo area the same day, killing one member of the forces and wounding several others.

In Nushki’s Ahmad Wal area, the BLA said fighters attacked the main military camp with heavy weapons on October 26, causing extensive damage. Four days later, a convoy of military trucks was ambushed in the same area, leaving two personnel dead, several wounded and one truck destroyed, according to the group.

The BLA claimed three more personnel were killed and several wounded when its fighters again targeted troops travelling on foot and in vehicles in Ahmad Wal on November 2. On the same day, a military convoy came under attack near Madina Hotel on the main highway in Mastung, where the group claimed more than four personnel were killed and several others wounded.

Separately, the BLA claimed responsibility for an October 30 explosion that destroyed a military vehicle at Gwand Sareen in Hoshab.

Intelligence-Based Operations

Jeeyand Baloch said information provided by the BLA’s intelligence wing, ZIRAB, led to an October 26 attack at Koh-e-Taran in Dalbandin, where fighters targeted the vehicle of Shahjahan, alias Shahu, with an explosive device before launching an armed attack on other members of his group.

He claimed three men, including Shahu, were killed and several wounded. The BLA identified Shahu as a key operative of the Pakistani military, alleging that he had long been involved in intelligence gathering, recruiting local collaborators and supervising armed groups it described as “death squads” in Dalbandin and surrounding areas.

The BLA also claimed responsibility for killing Rana Muhammad Ahmed, a resident of Lahore, in Gwadar’s Ghatti Dor area on the night of October 28. The group identified him as a Military Intelligence operative, alleging that he had been gathering information and facilitating military activities while operating under cover.

Meanwhile, fighters attacked a vehicle carrying members of an alleged state-backed armed group in Turbat’s Nodiz area on October 28, severely damaging the vehicle and wounding those inside, according to the statement.

Police Station Seized and Highway Blockades

The BLA said its fighters took control of the Muskan Qalat police station in Kharan on October 31, detained all personnel and confiscated their weapons and investigative equipment. The police station building was subsequently destroyed with explosives, the group added.

Earlier, on October 26, fighters attacked an under-construction deputy commissioner’s complex near Bab-e-Kharan with explosives and subsequently targeted troops advancing towards the site, inflicting casualties and material losses, the statement claimed.

In Basima, the BLA said an unoccupied military post at Dorug was destroyed with explosives on October 30. On the same day, fighters destroyed surveillance cameras installed at a hotel near Pasni Zero Point, which the group alleged were being used by Pakistani forces for monitoring.

The statement also detailed several operations targeting military supplies and commercial vehicles. It said fighters seized a military supply vehicle at Zarrin Jungle in Nushki on October 27, while another vehicle carrying rations and essential goods for Pakistani forces was seized on the main highway between Dalbandin and Yakmach on October 30.

Two commercial vehicles were seized at Cheyahtar on the Quetta–Taftan highway on October 31 as part of what the BLA described as an “economic blockade”. The statement said another commercial vehicle was set on fire during a blockade on the same route on November 2.

Seven BLA Fighters Killed in October

The statement also acknowledged the deaths of seven BLA fighters in separate clashes with Pakistani forces earlier in October.

Four fighters, identified as Fareed, alias Abyan; Munir, alias Noora; Shahzeb, alias Ehsan; and Jaleel, were killed in fighting at Rodeenjo in Kalat on October 20, according to the group.

Aurangzeb, alias Asif, was killed in Manguchar’s Chotank area on October 24, while Noman Jamaldini, alias Comrade Sameer, and Parvez Muhammad Hasni, alias Qadir, died during clashes in Surab’s Gidar area on the same day.

The BLA paid tribute to the seven fighters and reiterated its commitment to continue its armed campaign for an independent Balochistan.
