The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) said on Thursday that its fighters carried out a major attack in Balgatar, in Balochistan’s Panjgur district, where they captured a Pakistani Army post and killed 14 soldiers on Tuesday evening.

In a media statement, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said the group launched an armed assault at around 5 p.m. on 7 October in the Tesh area of Balgatar, targeting a Pakistan Army post located along the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) route.

According to the statement, the attack continued for more than three hours, during which BLF fighters used “modern and heavy weapons” to seize control of the post. The group said 14 military personnel were “eliminated,” four others injured, and all weapons and military equipment at the site were taken into their possession.

The BLF said that after its fighters captured the post, four Quick Response Force (QRF) vehicles were dispatched from Panjgur, supported by two quadcopters and a surveillance drone. It claimed that BLF fighters ambushed the convoy, forcing the troops to retreat, and shot down both quadcopters and the surveillance drone.

The group confirmed that one of its fighters, Abdullah Maiyar, also known as Saugat, was killed during the operation. The statement described him as a “brave and capable member” of the organization’s Qurban Unit, saying he had fought in several major battles in Turbat, Paroom, Kolwah, Gwarkop, Jhao, Shapuk and Balgatar.

“Comrade Abdullah Maiyar sacrificed his life for the nation,” the BLF said, adding that he had joined the organization a year earlier and quickly moved to the front line because of his “dedication, skill, and courage.”

The statement added that the BLF “pays tribute to martyr Saugat, whose sacrifice strengthens the resolve of Baloch freedom fighters.” It said, “The goal of our martyrs is the freedom of Balochistan, and we will continue to make every sacrifice to achieve it.”

The group said the operation demonstrated its combat capability, adding that “targeting the occupying army along the CPEC route is proof of the organization’s strategic and operational strength.” It further claimed that “the Pakistani military is so psychologically defeated in Balochistan that it refuses to acknowledge its deceased soldiers.”

The BLF reiterated its commitment to continue “organized attacks against the occupying enemy until the freedom of Balochistan is achieved.”
