Reports have emerged of five individuals allegedly subjected to enforced disappearance in different parts of Balochistan.

In Turbat’s Sangani Sar area, a man identified as Baqir, son of Shakir, was reportedly detained from his home by Pakistani security forces on Tuesday night. According to his family, he has not been seen since, and no official information regarding his whereabouts has been provided.

On 10 July 2025, two students, Dost Ali Baloch and Shahzaib Baloch, were allegedly taken from Winder. Families of the students state that more than two months have passed without the two being presented in court or any information being shared about their condition. Relatives have expressed concern for their safety and have appealed to the authorities to either bring them before a court if charges exist or ensure their safe recovery.

On 27 August, Saqib, son of Haji Ahmed Khan Buzdar, was reportedly detained in Quetta. According to accounts, he was taken while returning home from work at the Jinnah Town branch of a bank near Gold City Mall, and subsequently moved to an undisclosed location. His family claim they have received no information regarding his detention or current status, and are calling for his immediate release.

In a separate incident in Chagai’s Padag area, on Sunday afternoon at around 2pm, former provincial vice president of the Baloch Students Organisation (Pajjar), Shafqat, son of Muhammad Qasim, was allegedly abducted by unidentified armed men. Relatives state that Shafqat Naz, who is described as a respected medical professional, was travelling with his family when he was reportedly forced off a bus and taken away in front of them. His family have called on the authorities to secure his release and to take effective measures to end the practice of enforced disappearances in Balochistan.

Human rights groups have repeatedly raised concerns about reports of enforced disappearances in the region, while Pakistani authorities maintain that security operations are conducted in accordance with the law.
