A young man from Balochistan’s Kech district, Saddam s/o Mehrab Baloch, has reportedly gone missing after being detained by Pakistani security forces. His family and local sources say there has been no information about his whereabouts since the incident.
According to reports, Saddam Baloch and his colleague Gulzar Neksaal were taken into custody from the outskirts of Turbat city. Both work as mechanics in a small garage in the Seri Shaapuk area of Kech district.
Family members stated that on the day of the incident, Saddam and Gulzar left home in the morning for work as per their daily routine. On the way, security personnel reportedly intercepted and detained them.
Gulzar Neksaal was released later that night at around 12 AM after several hours in custody. However, Saddam Baloch has not been released, nor has any information been provided regarding his condition or location.
Enforced disappearances are not new in Balochistan. Human rights organizations have repeatedly raised concerns over such incidents, calling for accountability and the safe recovery of missing persons.
Saddam Baloch’s family has appealed to the authorities for his immediate release or at least information about his well-being.
